Description

AT2018cow is a well studied fast blue optical transient. Dispite a plethora of data, there is no consensus on the nature of the event. We use HST data between two and four years after the event to investigate the environment of this transient. Surprisingly there is still transient emission detected at the location of AT2018cow in this time period. This late time emission resembles emission from tidal disruption events, but we cannot rule out a peculiar supernova as the nature of the event.
